
Maren Ward, Creative Director and Actor Maren Ward directed and helped create the original zAmya theater production and is excited for this remount. Maren is a founding member of Bedlam Theatre with whom she has worked as a performer, director and administrator since 1996. She is currently working with the company on developing an original musical about the West Bank neighborhood. Since 1998 she has been a “facilitator of collaboration” for the Barebones Productions Halloween Show, a spectacular nighttime pageant of puppetry, live music, and pyrotechnics. She has also performed with Bright Eye Productions, Frank Theater, and 10,000 Things. Maren is a recipient of a 2005 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative grant to create a performance with her frequent collaborator Sarah Garner. |
Josef Evans,Playwright Josef Evans is a playwright and national director of Theater Corps, a nonprofit program dedicated to social and environmental change through the arts. His work has been produced nationally by a number of companies, including the St. Louis Black Repertory Theater, Playwright’s Theater of New Jersey, Illusion Theater, and the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center (Seattle). He is an associate artist of Bedlam Theatre and in June 2000 was named a finalist for a Master Artist fellowship at Harvard University’s Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue. In addition to a B.A. in Theater from the University of Notre Dame, Josef has studied extensively in community-based art-making, including a residency with the Los Angeles Poverty Department, a company comprised primarily of homeless artists. |

Monica Nilsson,Homeless Advocate Monica Nilsson is Director of Community Development for The Bridge for Youth in South Minneapolis. She joined the agency in 2004 after working for the past 10 years with homeless adults in various capacities from overnight volunteer to shelter director. She is among the leadership of the Shelter Providers Action Association (SPAA), which is comprised of advocates for homeless people in Minneapolis. It includes both private and county funded shelter providers, legal aid, and current or formerly homeless men and women, among others. SPAA works to provide dignified shelter, educate the public, raise funding for shelter and improve communication in the continuum of housing. Finally, she is a Board Member of the Community Advisory Board on Homelessness, a Board appointed by the Hennepin County Commissioners and Minneapolis City Council to advise them on issues of homelessness. |
Raymond Connors Ray is a native of Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin. Ray served as a medic in Vietnam in 1968-69 and upon returning lived in many states across the country. He is a cab driver, locksmith and silversmith. Ray moved to Minneapolis in 1975 and is a man of facts and wit! |

Corey Davis Corey is originally from Lorain, Ohio and moved to Minneapolis in 1976. After graduating from high school, Corey studied Chemical Dependency at Minneapolis Community College. He loves sports and people and is an avid reader. Corey would like to pursue a career in acting. |
Jack Matheson Jack Matheson grew up in the Minneapolis area and is a proud member of the first graduating class of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program. Having made his Fringe Festival debut In Dash Production’s Midnight Train To Georgia in 2001, Jack is pumped to return with so compelling and vital a piece of theater. Anthony HughesAnthony is a quiet person, who usually keeps his opinions to himself. He enjoys board games and spending his time reading books. "Outgoing, is not a word I would use to describe myself. Since I've become older, my activity level has declined and a lot of the things I enjoy I choose not to do anymore. Humor is something that left me a long time ago. Change is not something that I look forward to, although if it happens, I welcome it. This is who I've become, it is who I am." |
Stephanie Steele Before moving to Minnesota 14 years ago, Stephanie Steele lived in Los Angeles where she studied theater at the Theater Academy at Los Angeles City College and pursued a B.A. in english literature and history at Occidental College. She was also active in the political organization, Solidarity, and spent a year organizing janitor's unions in the Los Angeles area. Stephanie now lives in Saint Paul with her husband and three children, where she works as a volunteer librarian for the neighborhood elementary school, writes fiction, paints and participates in tournament scrabble. |
Shawn James Shawn is 41 years old. He is adopted and has found his birth family. He is currently homeless and looking for work. Shawn has a CDL class A license. He is familiar with southwest Arizona, most notably Sonoran Desert. He has performed rescues. "Acting in ways this life, I am pulling out of closet, is you." His is a published, award winning poet. |
Terrie Ten Eyck Terrie has owned and operated Intellectual Architects, An Integral Learning and Consulting organization for the past 11 years. A mother of three grown kids, and soon-to-be grandmother of three, Terrie has experienced a full range of life experiences that have driven her passion and desire to live, love and lead life fearlessly and with spirited action and intention. |

John Thomas John was raised in South Minneapolis and is a graduate of Washburn High School. He attended some college, but not with an emphasis in acting. John is interested in the study of law and is also interested in pursuing acting further than just this production. He has traveled extensively in North America and Europe. John enjoys Minneapolis and is a walking encyclopedia. |
